Little Boxes. I really liked the mix of architecture in houses in Stockholm. It ranged greatly but my favorites where all the boxy ones. I spotted this group of boxes from the Tunnelbana. When I saw them I was really into how every home was the same box one after the other. Later when I was setting up to take another photo up the street a bit, the owner of the home I was framing up came out and talked to me and asked me if I’d be interested in buying their home. It was such a surprise.
Workspace. I’m really excited to have my workspace featured on Herman Miller today. So stoked. Thanks Dave!
Night Colors. Another thing I really love about night photography is the color of the sky. I can never guess what it’s color will be. It seems that film picks up a lot more color my eye can’t see over the length of a long night exposure. It always makes it that much more interesting to pick up my negatives from the lab. I would have never guessed that I’d get a lavender sky when I took this shot. Walking at night in Stockholm.
A Giant Top! 2010 is starting out at a dizzying pace so I thought I should release this guy early. This is a picture of the new Giant Headspin laying next to his little Headspin buddy on a tatami mat in Takayama Japan. I took these guys along with me to Japan this last trip too. Giant Headspin was fun to spin on the tatami mats. It takes two hands to get this guy going. Giant Headspin is a limited series of 3 tops and can be found in the store today for the January update.
Light Colors. I really like night photography because of the color cast from lights and how those colors change the surroundings. I thought this place was really interesting because of the mix of light colors on the building and the perfect alignment of the windows. Walking at night in Stockholm.
