Pencil Pushers Drawings. Pencil Pirate Walking, Drawn By Hand, and Drawn Together #2. Graphite on paper. I used one of my favorite 7.0 Pentel Pencils to draw these using a ruler and circle stencil.

Show Card. Just got sent this.

GRSF Group Show. I just got asked to be apart of the next show at Giant Robot in San Francisco. The show is called Pencil Pushers, The Art of Graphite. It opens next Saturday May 16th and runs until June 17th. The opening reception will be on the 16th from 6:30-10pm. I just took my three drawings in to be framed today. It will be rad to pick them up next week, I can’t wait. Above is a scan of my Pencil Pirate drawing before I cleaned it up. I really liked the underdrawing lines but I had to erase them. So heres your look at the process. The scan is a bit dark to pick up the faint underdrawing lines but the paper is a nice bright yellow and will be framed in a clean white frame.

Desktop Still Life. This is a little setup I’ve had on my desk the past month while I’ve been away from my studio freelancing on a project that required me to be on site. On the left is the Pencil Pirate’s head made from scrap wood, there’s also a new Kokeshi as well as a painted wood cutout of ‘A Flat Perspective’. Then there’s some other goodness from the Japanese market that is close by.
