The TV Room. This was my favorite room in this apartment I lived in right in the center of Stockholm. It got the best light in it all day long. This apartment was such a great place to stay. There was the best Turkish food right across the street, a candy store right below it on the ground floor, and was three blocks from the best salami sandwiches in the world. Plus you got to ride in this cool old elevator with a sliding metal gate for a door.
Spooky Woods. This is a path behind the apartment building I lived in in Stockholm. The apartment building was set right in the woods. It was really great but a little spooky at night.
First Photo in Tokyo. Today marks 52 weeks of posting an image from my travels to Japan and a few from Sweden. I thought at first I would mix images from all my different travels but it was really nice to keep posting about Japan since I haven’t been in over a year now. For the next few weeks I will post images from my time spent in Stockholm, Sweden. The image above was taken right after I exited the Shinjuku Train Station right after getting off of the Nairita Express. It was so exciting to be here. Funny enough too, it was this same week of May I was there in 2002.
Play time. A series I’ve loosely started to shoot is playgrounds in Japan. They get the coolest looking slide combo play sets. This one is pretty simple but I’ve seen giant octopus and crazy dome looking things. I unfortunately didn’t have my camera on me at the times I stumbled upon them. I took this picture in Odaiba. I really like the random composition the tv dishes make on the balconies.
Taxis Trains and Buses. All three of my favorite forms of transportation in Japan in one shot. I love seeing all the buses and taxis lined up. All the different colors are really interesting I think. They end up forming a nice composition to me. A little purple and bright green on the left, a bit of yellow on the right and some red on top. I love it when things work out like this. The image becomes on it’s simplest level to me about composition through color and not about the objects in the image. This is taken from an overpass walkway near the Shibuya train station.
