Bikes Bikes Bikes! I love how many bikes people ride around Tokyo and the rest of Japan. It is so awesome seeing a sea of them all lined up at subway stations. I took this photo on my way to a bakery to get some bacon cheese bread for breakfast (it sounds crazy but it’s the best).

Mattress pick up day was super cool to see. I was staying with friends in the Nakaochiai area of Tokyo, just a five minute train ride from Shinjuku, and one morning when I left the house to walk to the train station almost every house had a mattress rolled up and placed out in front of their home for pick up.

Garden in Kamakura. I loved this landscape the second I saw it. I couldn’t believe the blue tarp filling the pond, it was to perfect. I later returned to this temple three years after this image was taken and to my great dismay the whole garden had been changed. All the trees and bushes above had been ripped out and replaced with sod grass. Such a bummer. But the water works now.

Riding around Tokyo. This picture is taken from a random subway platform. I was taking the JR Green Line (Yamanote Line), around the city to see the different areas and I got out to take this picture because I liked the view of the square below from the platform, as well as all of the great signs. All the signage around Tokyo is amazing. I also really really love how Tokyo has so much greenery throughout the city. I was so surprised the first time I visited. I thought it would be nothing but buildings, but I was happily mistaken.

Great color palette. I don’t know what to say more than nice color palette. All the neutral colors of the surroundings and then this bright building facade. I thought it was amazing. Wandering the streets of Tokyo is always great. You just don’t ever know what you are going to find.
