Up hill riding. This is the second construction debris ski hill I found in Stockholm. I found two others but wasn’t ever able to visit them. I was really hoping to find this ski hill with a little snow on it but sadly it didn’t have any. Walking up to this place was kind of creepy. You walked up a really long driveway that had all these parking stalls that hadn’t been used in a long time, some of which had turned into people’s little private dumps. Once you got to the ski area it was partially being taken over by a swampy marsh with signs sinking and stuff covered in moss. It was like finding an old ghost town or something. This place was totally fun to explore. The most interesting thing to find though was that the ski hill had now turned into a motorcycle hill climb.

Opps, I missed that sign. I probably shouldn’t have been down here on these old tracks taking this picture. And I probably passed a number of signs that told me to keep out. But I had to explore. The site of the big graffiti under the huge concrete bridge made me feel like I was seeing something from back home. But I was in Stockholm, in the snow.

Tourist Shot. I love this view of Södermalm from Gamlastan. I went out super early in the morning to avoid capturing people and cars in this photo. The weather was so cold I was afraid my shutter might not work that day and my hands almost froze off while taking the picture too.

Apartment House. This is the living room of the apartment I stayed in while living in Stockholm. The apartment was really amazing. It was the size of a house with 12″ ceilings but in a building on the third floor and was fully furnished. It was crazy to me how big it was. I’d never lived in an apartment like that before. It was really awesome living here. The other amazing thing too was how much daylight this place got, I loved it.

Strange Perspective. I took this photo on Söder as I was exploring the streets to learn more about the area. I took this picture because of how nicely the buildings lined up with one another in the curve of the road giving the street a funny perspective. At least to my eye that area goes between looking normal to looking flat and losing its depth because I can’t see around the corner. I love the old buildings in Stockholm.
